These trailers normally have more compact dimensions, since
the Diesel engine is located side of the spar, not in the front part as it is
in the units of the range 80-300 ton.
The telescopic supports (pads), can be longitudinally moved along the frame spars
and are normally
manually adjustable
; they also can be
hydraulically operated
(option).

These trailers are mainly used to handle big boats, in fact
they are equipped with two rows of
hydraulic pads
, the Diesel engine, due to its bigger size, is located in the front side of the
trailer in order that it doesn't interfere with the boat bows.
All trailers (also the small ones) are equipped with a
self-levelling system
on the front wheel-groups, that is able to keep the boat levelled also when one
of the wheels travels on uneven ground, holes, etc.
